Discover holiday cheer at Tanglewood Festival of Lights in Clemmons! Ringing in their 26th anniversary, this beloved local tradition transforms Tanglewood Park’s beautiful greenery into a glittering winter wonderland, filled with LED lights and animated scenes. Featuring 100 festive displays, visitors are invited to drive their vehicles through this magnificent, 5-mile long route and watch with glee as over a million lights twinkle above them.

Attracting more than 250,000 visitors each year, the popularity of the Festival of Lights continues to grow. Since it first opened in 1992, this event has earned an outstanding reputation as North Carolina’s biggest and brightest light show. With new displays added every year, Tanglewood’s wintertime festival keeps the magic alive by providing family-friendly attractions, special events, and a charming gift shop.

 

                    Holiday Fun and Special Events for Everyone

Beyond its dazzling light show, the Tanglewood Festival of Lights also offers wintertime attractions and holiday-themed events for all ages. Midway through the route, visitors can drive up to Gift Village, the festival’s beloved gift shop. Housed inside a restored red barn, guests can discover crafts, gifts, and other goods made by some of North Carolina’s most talented artisans. Also located at Gift Village is S’moresville, where you can roast marshmallows to create delicious s’mores treats. Other popular on-site activities include:

   Carriage and Hay Rides: Visitors are invited to enjoy a three-person sleigh ride in a traditional carriage or climb aboard a hayride with their group of up to 25 guests. Reserve in advance to enjoy these delightful alternative ways to experience Tanglewood’s light show.

   Running of the Lights: Start 2018 with a bang by competing in a New Year’s Eve race around Tanglewood Park! Scheduled just before midnight on December 31st, cont estants can run either a 1.75-mile or 5K track through the lights. To register online, visit runningofthelights.com.

   Meet and Greet with Santa: Bring your little ones to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus every evening starting at 6 p.m. After taking a photo together, kids can head over to the Gift Village and write their Christmas wishlists for Old Saint Nick!

Located at 4061 Clemmons Road, Tanglewood Park’s Festival of Lights begins on Friday, November 17th and runs until Monday, January 1st. Opening hours are between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., except on New Year’s Eve when the show closes at 10 p.m. Tickets fees can be paid in cash and with Visa or MasterCard. Daily admission rates are $15 for families (cars, vans, and trucks), $35 for commercial groups (vans, limos, minibusses), and $100 for large groups arriving in a bus or motor coach.
