One of the things I love most about the Triad is that there is always something happening. Whether you've lived here your whole life or you're just getting settled in a new home, this community has a way of pulling you in and making you feel right at home. Here are five events I'm excited about this weekend in Forsyth and Davie County — a little something for everyone.

1. 🦕  Dinos at the Dash

If you have kids — or if you're just a fan of all things prehistoric — this is the event of the weekend. The Winston-Salem Dash are hosting "Dinos at the Dash" at Truist Stadium, featuring life-size dinosaur animatronics, interactive exhibits, and a special appearance from the Kernersville Reptile Zoo. Pair that with a night of minor league baseball and you've got one unforgettable Sunday.

2. 🎵  Winston-Salem Symphony: Copland's Fanfare

Close out your weekend on a high note with the Winston-Salem Symphony performing Aaron Copland's iconic Fanfare for the Common Man alongside a full afternoon program. RJ Reynolds Auditorium is one of the most beautiful concert venues in the state, and this is the kind of experience that reminds you why you love living here.

3. 🍺  Wise Man May Makers Market

Wise Man Brewing is hosting their Makers Market this Saturday — a laid-back outdoor gathering featuring local artisans, vendors, handmade goods, and of course, great craft beer. It's a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon supporting local makers while soaking in the community vibe that makes Winston-Salem so special.

The Agency’s tip: Come hungry — food trucks are usually on-site. The market typically runs through late afternoon.

4. 🎭  Theatre Alliance: Everybody's Talking About Jamie

This award-winning musical about a teenager who dreams of becoming a drag queen has won hearts around the world — and now it's here in Winston-Salem. Theatre Alliance is putting on a production full of heart, humor, and show-stopping performances. Whether you catch it Saturday night or the Sunday matinee, this is one you won't forget.

5. 🏛  George Washington in the American South — Lecture at Historic Bethabara

For the history lovers in the crowd, this Saturday brings a fascinating lecture from historian Warren L. Bingham on George Washington's journey through the American South. Given that we're living in one of the most historically rich regions of North Carolina — from Bethabara to the Moravian settlements of Bethania — this is a perfect fit for our community.
